VoIP and SIP/TCP/IP Network Helpdesk Technician

VSGi has immediate openings for VoIP and Network Helpdesk Technicians in our McLean, VA office.  This is a tremendous opportunity for a talented professional to advance your career in one of the fastest growing technology industries and to continue to develop and expand their skills by working with one of the most tenured technical teams in the industry.  The position(s) will be based in McLean, VA and requires the ability to work eight (8) hour shifts between 8AM-8:30PM EST.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support to VSGi customers via phone, email, instant message and fax in support of VoIP network and phones, infrastructure hardware/software, equipment and network manage service contracts
  • Open, maintain and close trouble-tickets for all incoming customer requests
  • Facilitate the opening, trouble-shooting, and closure of VoIP and IP network trouble-tickets with 3rd party carriers in support of VSGi customer issues
  • Coordinate the RMA parts replacement and dispatch of service technicians in support of standard customer maintenance agreements
  • Configuration of VoIP phones, routers, switches and other network devices
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and customer support
  • Provide internal network administration, infrastructure and IT support

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of related experience in support and trouble-shooting of VoIP and IP networks and technology
  • BA or BS degree desired and/or equivalent work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking experience
  • Strong knowledge of Polycom and Linksys IP Handset configurations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SIP networks and VoIP routing methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of VLAN configurations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MPLS networks and QoS configurations
  • Videoconferencing and A/V integration solutions a plus
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Strong project management skills, detailed oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid problem solving and consultative skills in a fast paced environment
